While reading the folklore account of the discovery of Brunei, something of the text struck my spirit as a significant word...The name 'Brunei' is said to have been derived from the first words spoken by those early discoverers..."baru nah", which means "this is it (the place)! Standing there that day at Kota Batu (the traditional founding place of Brunei) in prayer these words were impressed upon me... "This is it, the place, where God had chosen to do a great and unique work among the unreached peoples..." Scripture tells us that Abraham believed God that He would fulfill his promises, and it was counted as righteoussness. Are we able to give glory to God in the same way and believe that he is able to bring what He has promised among the unreached people groups of Brunei? |
