One interpretation of the Word Malay, is "One who bows the knee before the King." There are about 220,000 Brunei Malay in the country of Brunei, which have not yet come to bow their knee toward Isa Al-Masih, Jesus the Messiah. Will you pray that these people will encounter Jesus and "bow the knee before the king?"

"Oh Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Psalm 95:6

Brunei Malay

"We dare not go to to bed!... we will sink into the water." states Awang who is a Malay from Kampong Ayer, the historic water village built over the river in the Capital of Brunei. The condition of the old wooden houses and walkways are very poor due to water damage. "high tide coupled with the downpour may mean we will sink into the water" he continues.

Awang hopes with all the others who live in the damaged houses on wooden stilts that their historic water village, will be restored. But, there is a much deeper restoration in Brunei that needs to take place. Brunei Darussalem, an independent nation on the northern coast of Borneo, numbers 330,000. Two thirds of these people are Muslims and they do not know Jesus. The country is known for its rigidity as a strict Muslim nation.

Today, the God of all heaven wants to restore the hearts of these peoples back to Him. He wants to make a home in the hearts of the Brunei Malay. May we "dare not go to bed!" Can you stay awake and 'watch and pray'?... Remember Awang today in prayer. But most of all remember to pray for the Brunei Muslims. They number 220,000 comprised of several people groups, with little opportunity to find out who Jesus is.
