Imam Bonjol State Islamic University

This institution was established in 1966 as a State Institute of Islamic Religion but in 2017 it became a university. It is named after a famous religious leader who fought against the Dutch in the early 1800s.

Students study in one of six faculties: Morals (Adab) and Humanities; Outreach (Da'wah) and Communication Sciences; Sharia Law; Education and Development (Tarbiyah); Islamic Belief (Ushuluddin) and Islamic Business and Economics.

 

  • Pray that Minangkabau students understanding of divine transcendence and moral law would leave them thirsting for a personal Saviour, one who has walked in their shoes.

  • Pray that as they acquire knowledge about the creator they would discover a personal relationship with Him.

  • Pray for students to have enquiring minds and to keep on asking questions until they meet 'the way, the truth, the life'.
