The Great Mosque

Construction of Pekanbaru's Great Mosque began in 2000 and was completed in 2005. The Great Mosque is considered the biggest mosque in the Riau Province. Five times a day, you can hear the call to prayer ring out from its loudspeakers. Located just beneath the mosque is an Islamic school where children are trained in Islamic studies.
